The Club SciKidz West Chicago - Junior Space Explorer camp transforms campers into junior astronauts, offering an immersive experience into the wonders of space. Through hands-on activities and experiments, participants will delve into topics such as the sun, moon, planets, and the daily life of an astronaut. Campers will engage in exciting projects like experimenting with screaming balloon rockets, using solar glasses, constructing star finders, building and launching rockets, and creating glow-in-the-dark models of Saturn. They will also design UV bracelets, build sundials, and model our solar system. The curriculum is designed to spark curiosity, foster a love for STEM, and develop scientific inquiry skills through interactive and engaging projects.
A typical day includes general check-in, an all-camp science demonstration, multiple S.T.E.A.M rotations, snack breaks, lunch and recess, and afternoon activities like Minute to Win It games, team building, and outdoor components.
This camp is ideal for children curious about what lies beyond our atmosphere and those with an interest in becoming future rocket scientists or astronauts.
