The Everyone Can Code Chicago - AI + CREATIVITY program is a 6-week hybrid program designed for participants to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and artistic expression. Participants will engage with AI-assisted tools to push creative boundaries and discover how AI can enhance their work. The curriculum focuses on integrating competency-based education practices with work-based learning, allowing students to learn and apply new skills. Activities include exploring various web-based AI software beyond traditional chatbots, with an emphasis on ethical considerations and creativity in original product creation. Students will learn the importance of becoming a “prompt engineer” to optimize AI outputs for their projects. The program culminates in a final AI and creativity project, which participants will present at a showcase event. Successful completion of the program may also provide eligibility to apply for the Fall 2026 App Accelerator program, an intensive 12-week program focused on entrepreneurship and app development.
A typical day involves virtual and in-person sessions exploring various web-based AI software and working on creative projects, with an emphasis on ethical considerations and prompt engineering.
This program is ideal for Chicago youth aged 16-24 with an interest and commitment to learning new skills in AI and creative expression, regardless of prior coding experience.
