About this camp

The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum Summer Adventure Camp offers an engaging and immersive experience where nature and science come alive through a variety of interactive activities and outdoor exploration. Campers develop critical thinking and social skills by spending fun-filled days inside and outside the museum. Activities include science and art projects, nature play, and animal encounters. The camp encourages children to take the lead in their exploration of Chicago's nature, utilizing tools they select or build themselves. Campers will use the indoor and outdoor grounds of the Museum as their classroom to foster critical thinking, social-emotional skills, and science practices through hands-on experiences with museum collections, exhibits, and live animal connections. For older campers (8-9 year olds), off-site field trips are also part of the experience.
