About this camp

The UIC ETL Science and Technology Summer Camp is an educational outreach program hosted by the UIC College of Education, designed to introduce students to STEM through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Participants work with various technologies, including robotics, drones, 3D printing, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LEGO Robotics, Ozobot, and telepresence robots. The camp also involves science projects in natural science, chemistry, physics, computer science, and engineering. Students engage in activities such as computer programming, engineering challenges, environmental science experiments, animation, multimedia production, and web development. The program emphasizes project-based learning, interactive demonstrations, and team activities to foster curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Students will have the opportunity to build miniature race cars and create terrariums.

What a typical day looks like

Campers meet at 10 AM in the Education Technology Lab, engaging in hands-on activities and lessons with various technologies and science projects, and conclude the day at 4 PM.

This camp is ideal for inquisitive and curious students aged 8-13 who want to explore new technologies, meet new people, and use their minds and hands to solve problems in a collaborative environment.
