About this camp

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Engineering Summer Camp offers middle and high school students an immersive, hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines. Participants engage in daily project and design challenges, exploring fields such as chemical engineering, mechanical and industrial engineering, computer science, civil, materials, and environmental engineering. Activities include working with robotics, biomechanics, nanotechnology, autonomous vehicles, 3D printing, coding, and rapid prototyping. The camp emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving in a supportive, age-appropriate environment. Older students (rising 10th-12th graders) also receive college preparation tips, campus tours, and insights into engineering careers. What a typical day looks like

A typical day involves drop-off between 8:30 AM and 8:50 AM, followed by a morning project and design challenge. After lunch and outdoor recess, students participate in another project and design challenge in the afternoon, with pickup at 4 PM.
