Camp Invention is the only nationally recognized, non-profit elementary enrichment program inspired by National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees, offering a fresh curriculum each year.
Camp Invention: Spark at Helen C. Peirce School of International Studies offers an engaging, hands-on STEM experience for elementary-aged campers. The program focuses on developing creativity, persistence, and problem-solving skills through various challenges inspired by real-world inventors. Campers will investigate mysteries with robotic capybaras in 'Fur-ensics™,' designing sleuthing gadgets and conducting forensic science techniques. They will also explore entrepreneurship by designing innovative products and billboard boats in 'Make Waves™,' inspired by surfboard innovations and physics experiments. In 'Space Morphers™,' children launch a mission to transform a new planet, building DIY rockets and designing inventions for navigating intense conditions. Additionally, 'The Infringers™' module has campers team up with the Innovation Force™ to identify and solve community challenges, exploring security tools, creating wearable cryptography devices, and learning about intellectual property protection. The curriculum is designed to encourage open-ended exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Each day, children rotate through two morning and two afternoon experiences, along with collaborative games, and are sorted by grade level.
This camp is best for curious kids entering grades K-6 who enjoy hands-on STEM challenges and want to develop their creativity, confidence, and problem-solving skills.
