Participants are paid to learn, earning $17.00 an hour for their participation, up to $2,040 for the full program.
The Everyone Can Code Chicago - Code + Create Summer Opportunities program offers participants aged 16-24 an immersive 6-week experience in either iOS app development or augmented reality. In the iOS App Development track, participants learn to build an iOS app from scratch using Swift, gaining practical experience with essential tools, techniques, and concepts. The Augmented Reality track focuses on building a solid foundation in augmented reality fundamentals using Reality Composer, encouraging creativity and 3D design. Both programs emphasize teamwork, culminating in the creation and presentation of a working prototype at an end-of-summer showcase event. Participants develop not only technical skills but also soft skills such as collaboration, communication, leadership, and problem-solving. The program aims to equip students with the skills needed to pursue further education or careers in technology, with eligibility to apply for an intensive Fall App Accelerator program upon completion.
Participants engage in approximately 20 hours of program activities per week, with 8 to 12 hours being in-person, learning and collaborating on their app or augmented reality projects.
This program is ideal for Chicago residents aged 16-24 with an interest and commitment to learning app development or augmented reality, regardless of prior coding experience.
